Mai Tai

The mighty Mai Tai originally hails from California and is the ultimate tiki beach bar spiced rum drink. With a name that means ‘good’ in Tahitian, it’s no surprise that the Captain finds a Mai Tai one of the best cocktails to indulge in while stranded on a desert island.

What’s in a Mai Tai? Well, it’s usually made from a tropical mix of rum, Curaçao, almond syrup and lime, but we’ve commandeered it and made it our own by adding Captain Morgan Coconut Rum, Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum and a dash of orange liqueur.

Our Mai Tai recipe is made with Grand Marnier, but you can use any orange liqueur if you so desire. Garnish your rum drink with a slice of pineapple and a sprig of fresh mint for a more exotic vibe.

For one serving

  • 15 Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum
  • 15 Captain Morgan Coconut Rum
  • 15 Grand Marnier (or other orange liqueur)
  • 15 Lime juice
  • 15 Almond syrup

  2. Add in some ice cubes and shake well.

  3. Strain into a tall glass filled with more ice.

  4. Garnish with the sprig of mint.
