Mojito

The Captain’s favourite whilst sipping under a palm tree, this invigorating cocktail with white rum hails from the pristine waters of the Caribbean. Known as Cuba’s most famous drink, the Mojito’s exact birthplace is thought to be the colourful streets of Havana. Once said to be used as a cure for pesky scurvy, it’s now a favourite of thirsty buccaneers across the high seas.

Like all good Mojitos, ours consists of five ingredients that muddle together to create a taste that’s like the essence of the Caribbean in your tankard.

While our classic Mojito recipe uses white rum, you can really let the Captain’s spirit loose with our Captain’s Spice Mojito that uses a drop of Captain Morgan Original Spiced Gold instead.

What you'll need

For one serving

  • Top up Soda water
  • 50 Captain Morgan White Rum
  • 1 Mint sprig
  • 7 Mint leaves
  • 2 Wedges of lime
  • 25 Sugar syrup
  • adfadf aefaef

Method

  1. Clap the mint in your palms to release the aromas, and place it at the bottom of a tall glass.

  2. Slice your lime into pieces and place on top of the mint.

  3. Add the simple syrup on top of the mint and lime. Muddle gently to release the lime juices.

  4. Fill your glass 3/4 full with crushed ice (important to use crushed ice to ensure maximum flavour).

  5. Pour in Captain Morgan White Rum and soda water. Stir well.

  6. Top with more crushed ice and garnish with a mint spring.
